In this episode, we are discussing spiritual awareness. Before I’ll answer the question of “How can one be more spiritual?” let’s discuss spirit and spirituality.
“What is necessary to change a person is to change his awareness of himself.”
—Abraham H. Maslow
Also, I am assuming the question is actually:
How to increase spiritual awareness?
So, spiritual awareness: what is this? What does it all mean? Spirit is, the way I see it, the nonphysical, but not always invisible, part of us. It is our soul, which is the spiritual, immaterial, non-physical part of us, which we think of as being immortal. So, to me, the spirit is the soul. I’ve read various books describing levels and differences between spirit and soul, and I respect that.
However, for clarity reasons, I’ll say that the soul is that vibration, that frequency, the pulse, that feeling, that which animates and breathes life into us, and into everything we see or don’t see. It is the spirit! To me.
Thus, to me, spiritual awareness can only mean being aware of spirit always, around us, through us, in everything and around everything we see or don’t see.
Also, (and paradoxically for our minds, inconceivable for our perception and education, social conditioning and cultural training) it is also the dormant, unconscious part of us, unaware of spirit always, around us, through us, in everything and around everything we don’t see. It must be so!
I can be unaware of spirit but still, I’m alive.
I have life in me, I am in Existence, in all that is, I am animated. Therefore I have a soul, a spirit who animates me… even if or when I live by instinct like animals do. Even so, I still am spiritual; of the spirit.
A spirit who makes my body work. So, I am, and all of us are, spirit and body working together. And, that means I am spiritual, of the spirit. I belong to my very own spirit who breathes life into my body, into me, as I perceive myself. All of us are, even when we are completely and totally unaware of our spirit.
So then how can we be more spiritual?
We already are fully spiritual! All of us! We can have more spiritual awareness.
We can open up to this understanding, of course, and then we will consciously feel, and, perceive ourselves to be more spiritual. Meaning we will consciously receive, perceive, and feel consciously more of who we are: spirit. Then, we may open up to the understanding that everything is profoundly spiritual. Life is spiritual. Words are spiritual. Thoughts are spiritual. Money is spiritual. Businesses are spiritual.
You already are, spiritual.
Everything we see derives from ideas. Ideas are thoughts. Thoughts came out of Spirit and were developed by spoken words such as:
- I am this
- or, I do that
- and, I want that
- or, I do this!
Words are creative. They create worlds. Words are spoken thoughts. Thoughts become things, and circumstances, and experiences. You know it’s true!
For example, I didn’t read the Bible much. I read it once when I was 9 or 10. I’m inspired by Neville Goddard to read it again, with the eyes I have now. I’m so impressed by what I hear, somebody named John, apparently, said a long time ago:
“In the beginning, there was the Word. The Word was with God, and the Word was God. All things were made by him, and nothing was made without him. In him there was life, and that life was the light of all people.”
Amazing, right? And, of course, spiritual, too. So, I say a combination of guarded thoughts with mindful spoken words gets us to live as beings who are consciously spiritual; thus, increase our spiritual awareness.
What do you think?
In the coming episode, we are discussing: What is enlightenment?
Until then, be well.
