Spiritual growth on social media!
I love Social Media.
I do. Also, spiritual growth is one of my main fascinations in this lifetime. Intentional, deliberate, conscious growth as beings, having a human experience. Sparks of Spirit in human bodies, doing life on Earth, using gadgets and all sorts of communication devices to find one another, through Social Media.
We are living what may have been inconceivable, but desirable, for an 11 years old Sandi back in 1988. But, since we always get what we are asking for – usually better – here you have a 41 years old Sandi, able to share himself with billions, through Social Media, just like you can.
Spiritual growth on social media is what I feel inspired to discuss today.
Spiritual growth combined with social media.
In fact, today we are living spiritual growth on social media since social media is the main instrument of human interaction. It is so powerful; it can be scary. So much power for a human being, so fast, one may feel overwhelmed, or paralyzed with the responsibility that comes with it.
We know, more or less, what social media is, what it can do, and how it can be used. Both my mother and my mother in law are on Facebook, just like yours, probably.
The way I see it, we are growing through connecting with other people, sharing stories, insights, discovering how life is for other people while imagining how we would be in other life experiences if we would experience them. Thus, we grow. Our imagination expands. We become aware of what is possible, probable, even certain, for some of us.
I am totally grateful for this reality.
I do hope, I am able to keep up the dazzling pace, reality took. Speed is much accelerated. For some of us who remember the pre-internet era, you may remember how slow life was. Slow and somewhat stable. Right? There was that feeling of stability, my parents, and relatives, for instance, expressed when I was little.
I said, my parents and relatives because they were my tribe. In my tribe, life was incredibly slow. However, as I said, life was very, very stable. So stable it felt somewhat uncomfortable for me, being curious and hungry for more, but, growing in a closed tribe: my family, my kin, within my country, period. That was, then!
Fast forward to today! Now, all my perceived boundaries, tribe, and country limits are gone; it’s all history. And, if for some people this is a motive to panic, and cry over the stability feeling of the past, for me it is the fastest spiritual awakening phase, humanity is going through, that I can imagine.
To have an entire planet having a conversation on multiple social media platforms about enlightenment, spirituality, light-workers, consciousness, awareness of deeper inner dimensions, waves of light traveling throughout our galaxy transforming life all over Earth… wow!
Something profoundly spiritual is going on.
The opportunity to unite that we have today, and mobilize, societies, large groups of people, is unheard of. Alike minds finding each other, so easily. What wonderful powerful times we are living in; times of spiritual growth on social media.
This is how I see it, beyond the cats, dogs, family pictures, all sorts of mindless posts or conversations about social media addiction, reducing the attention span, the data social media platforms gather about our lives, the control, the manipulation, the paranoia… yes, yes, yes! I’m aware of that, too.
However, ancient wisdom and uncommon sense, common sense-like teaches us a beautiful idea: with great power comes great responsibility. It is up to us, totally within our control to post mindfully, with responsibility and to use discernment regarding what we consume, post, share and disclose about our lives.
It is not information age: it is the information flood.
And, because of it, we can learn and grow faster than at any time before in known history. Now, what do you think? How do you use social media?
Do you see it as a spiritual growth opportunity? What do you do with this immense power you have never had available to you before? Ever? Do you even use it? Do you ignore it all together like many people I know?
Scary as it may be; I suggest you decide to use it. The times of isolated tribes are gone. You can see it everywhere. Today if you don’t talk to your neighbor, you are dead. And, where do you think you have the most chances to find your neighbor? Yes, growing spiritually on social media, even if that may not be his’ or her’s primary intention!
Ok! This was my idea of spiritual growth on social media. I have years of materials to talk to you about social media.
I am that hooked!
