#StrikingThoughts 3 – What do you believe?
“Most people aren’t really aware of what they believe. What’s more, most people have never considered whether what they believe is worth believing. … and, almost no one has actually gone inside their own head to watch how what they believe generates the results they’re getting.”
– Sandi Dragoi
What is a belief?
In its most fundamental sense, a belief is a guiding idea. A definition that provides meaning and direction in life. There are literally unlimited stimuli in our environment that are available to us at any given moment. Our beliefs are the filters through which we are giving ourselves a perception – a sense – of the world we are living in. When we believe something to be true it is like delivering a command to our brain as to how to represent inside ourselves what is happening, and, more importantly, what it means to us.
In other words, we don’t experience reality, but our beliefs about it. A belief is like a direct unquestioned communication to the nervous system; the brain, thus, doing precisely what it is told.
What do you believe?
Beliefs deliver commands to our nervous system. Thus, your beliefs about anything is what you experience as daily life.

A better idea, you ask?
Most likely! I believe our lives faithfully reflects our self-image. That which we are, at heart.
